Your social media is ESSENTIAL for the growth of your practice. More and more people every day go on social media looking for products and services.
Do you currently have an online presence? Do you take it seriously? Are you posting quality content? Are you consistent? Do you know the potential of it? As you read that, are you saying “I don’t have time to create content and even less time to stay consistent!”?
Your social media is essential for the growth of your practice. Right now more than ever! Why? Everyone is online, people spend many hours of their day scrolling on different platforms.
Are you ready to put in the work on your socials? Are you wondering…where do I even begin?
Here are 6 tasks you can start with:
✨CREATE A SOCIAL MEDIA STRATEGY
Every successful social media account has a strategy set in place! If you don’t have one, start today. A Social Media Strategy:
- Allows you to be efficient with your time because you know what your content needs to be!
- Helps you achieve your goals, because with a strategy you get to get a breakdown on how to achieve those goals.
- Allows you to reach your target audience. You know who your ideal client is and what they want to read from you!
- Allows you to have a cohesive branded experience for your potential patients!
- Helps you be consistent because there’s a plan!
- It will allow you to have a voice, share valuable information and position yourself as an expert!
✨IMPROVE YOUR INSTAGRAM BIO
Your Instagram BIO might be the first impression people get of your business. Make sure all the key information is there! Make sure it’s appealing and worthy of someone pressing the FOLLOW button.
✨TAKE PICTURES AROUND YOUR OFFICE. CREATE A SOCIAL MEDIA PICTURE BANK.
Stock photos are used when you run out of pictures or when you don’t want to put the time into taking pictures. This is your time to go around your practice and capture every awesome corner your office has to offer. There’s no need for a fancy camera, all you need is your phone. Most phones these days take incredible pictures!
Go around your office and take pictures of:
- Different rooms
- Whitening trays
- Nightguards
- Waiting area
- Kids rooms
- Sports guard
- Gather photos of team members. If they are not at the office, get them to email you some pictures.
Have a bank of pictures, it will make your life 10x easier. It will help you stay consistent and post quality content. Start today!
✨CREATE CONTENT AHEAD OF TIME.
Lack of time is one of the most common reasons offices don’t stay consistent on social media. Therefore, take this time and create content for the upcoming weeks.
Write your captions, and use platforms such as PLANOLY to schedule them all.
Plan and schedule your content ahead of time! Get into the habit of it. It will help now and when you open your practice again.

✨REVIEW HASHTAGS AND SEARCH FOR NEW ONES
Most dental offices use weak and random hashtags! About 95% of practices I come across on social media are not getting seen by their ideal client. Take the time to research and test hashtags. This will make a MASSIVE difference in your social media but especially on your business.
Hashtags are KEYWORDS used on social media to reach a broader audience. Which when you think about it, this is an incredible opportunity to get seen by more people. It’s a shame to see dental offices missing on opportunities of getting seen by their ideal clients.

Or if you need more help, send me a message! I know searching for hashtags can be overwhelming!
✨FILM VIDEOS
IGTV and Instagram stories are underused by most offices. Showing up on video will create a deeper relationship between you and your audience.
I suggest you start by making a list of topics you feel VERY comfortable talking about. Then take it 1 video at a time! Write down bullet points to make sure you don’t forget anything important.
Filming videos is something that doesn’t come naturally to a lot of people. If that’s you, that’s ok! Keep going at it. The more videos you film the easier it will become.
To help you get started, here’s a list of video ideas:
- Favorite products (toothpaste, whitening products, electric toothbrush, mouthwash, etc)
- Importance of wearing a night guard
- Foods that contribute to decay
- Your story. How did you get started?
- Tour of your office
Get started with these 5 video ideas! As I mentioned before, put in the time and work on your social media accounts. This will help you immensely when you open your doors again.
Review each of these points and apply them to your social media account! Many dental offices aren’t using social media to its full potential, this is your time to dominate!
