Frequently Asked Questions – Social media marketing

How’s your online presence and social media marketing strategy? I often get asked on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn social media questions. *A great way to answer them and keep them in a safe place is by writing a blog post and answering these questions.*

So…Let’s get started:

What social media platforms should I have for my dental office?

I recommend having both Instagram and Facebook. They are both very different platforms with very different audiences. On Facebook, you will find the older age group. And on Instagram where you will find a younger audience most likely young families.

By not having these platforms you are missing out on opportunities, clients and ultimately sales.

How many times a week should I be posting on these platforms?

This is a personal decision. I always suggest deciding on a number of days that is achievable for you. Be realistic! Don’t promise to post 5 times a week if you can really only post 3.

I recommend posting a least of 3-4 times a week. If you are able to post more often then go for it! Consistency is KEY for your social media marketing.

Do stories help my social media growth?

ABSOLUTELY! Stories are AMAZING! Facebook and Instagram stories are a great tool to use for growth. They allow your audience/patients to see a different side of your practice. Have fun! use the boomerang, slow-mo, polls, questionnaires, and all the other features.

You can post educational stories, a quick tour of your office, or show more procedures… the possibilities are ENDLESS.

I don’t always have time to create content. What do I do?

Running a dental office is not an easy task. That’s when planning and scheduling your content ahead of time comes in handy. It really pays off to plan your content 2 weeks to a month ahead of time. This allows the quality of your content to be better and to be aligned with your goals.

I’ve heard I need to post at a specific time. When is that?

Checking your insights is where you will find this information. Your insights are key information you want to be checking on a regular basis. Insights not only tell you what time to post but who your followers are. As well as what type of content they like and engage with the most, where they are from and so much more.

If you never check your insights get into the habit of looking at them a few times a week.

What should I post on Facebook?

There are so many topics and ideas to share about with your audience. Here are a few:
~Oral health! Explain why it is so important to visit the dentist and hygienist. Explain why the alignment of teeth is so important for overall health.
~Is there a new community event going on? Share about it, even better if you will be attending.
~New equipment that you purchased. Explain the benefits of it and how that’s going to improve client care.
~Is there a new team member joining the practice? Share about them, their achievement and what position they will take.

Online you will be able to find lots of research worth sharing and giving your opinion about. Follow me on Instagram, I always share content ideas for different platforms. You don’t want to miss out.

How many hashtags do I use on Instagram?

Instagram allows you to use 30 hashtags on the posts that go on your feed, I always recommend using all 30. These are 30 different ways of people finding you. On your Instagram stories, I recommend using 10 hashtags.

If I hire you, do you take care of everything?

I do, I make it nice and easy for you. I write the captions, come up with the content, do all the tedious hashtag research, schedule the content and more. Showing what your practice is about is very important to me. That’s when personal, around the office pictures, come in. I always suggest sending me pictures to add to your feed. I don’t like to manage an account that only has stock photos.

How much do you charge?

I have different packages! These packages are based on the number of posts per week. I also offer 1:1 coaching and a monthly membership. If you want to learn more about my services, all you have to do is send me an email and we can book a FREE discovery call.

I would love to help you improve your social media marketing.

What’s your background? How did you get started with social media?

I got started with social media by owning a subscription box. All the marketing was done through Instagram and Facebook. I loved what I was doing and all my clients were coming from these platforms. At the same time, I was also working as a Dental Hygienist. I went to Dental Hygiene school in Ottawa and worked as a Dental Hygienist for 6+ years.

If you have any other questions definitely reach out! I look forward to chatting about your social media marketing.
